We only have one planet so we only have one plan; to be sustainable. We love our packaging - not just because it looks good (if we do say so ourselves) but because it's plastic-free and either biodegradable or recyclable/re-usable. From the ink we use on our labels to the lining of our aluminium lids we are meticulous at ensuring nothing ever needs to end up in landfill.
All of our products are packaged in fully biodegradable & compostable kraft paper cardboard boxes. Even the print is made from vegetable ink and we NEVER use bubble wrap or polystyrene. Throw our cardboard boxes in with your garden compost and watch it slowly disappear...
Some of components, like our Toothbrush heads are recyclable with TerraCycle via their zero waste box solution to help recycle what local councils and centres cannot. They are separated into fibres such as wood and coated paper, plastics and other materials. The resulting fibres are then hydropulped to separate out coatings. These fibres are then recycled into new paper products, or composted if recycling is not possible. The resulting plastics can then be recycled into plastic polymers. Flexible and rigid plastics can eventually be moulded into various recycled plastic products.
Recycle, Refill, Repurpose. Our glass and aluminium jars are designed to be reusable in every way possible....food storage, teeny plant pots (cute). The glass and aluminium containers can be recycled indefinitely meaning one of our toothpaste jars could make its way back to us at some point....awwww!
Landfills are made up of all kinds of trash that could have been handled or disposed of in a different way. Much of the burden placed on landfills is completely unnecessary, but most of us are often otherwise unfamiliar with their options or how to recycle everyday items. In our quest to be fully sustainable we created the Zero To Landfill scheme.
Once used, save the brush heads. Snap them from the handle if you use our Beechwood Toothbrush, or simply remove the head if you use our Sonic Toothbrush.
Pack the heads.
To minimise mail transportation and carbon footprint, pack a minimum of four heads or one sonic handle into a paper envelope.
Mail the envelope to 'Free-post Georganics', we'll collect all the heads and send them to be recycled (because local councils won't!)
